In 2016, the challenge to find ‘Ennis’ Favourite Dish’ was launched with 5 restaurants creating their individual versions of a main course Ennis Dish and presenting them for judging ahead of the festival. The winning dish was demonstrated at our Gourmet Food Village.
The participating restaurants were: Food Heaven, Legends Restaurant, Rowan Tree Café Bar, The Cloister, The Dining Room.
Our judges had the hard (but tasty) job of picking the best out of 5 amazing entries and they decided our winning dish to be:
Panfried Fillet of Irish Beef, Celeriac Puree, Honey Roast Carrot and Parsnips, Spinach Moss, Oxtail Ragout with Horseradish Mash.

The dish was available at the Dining Room throughout the festival days. And the owner Christian Heta did a Cookery demonstration at our Gourmet Food Village on 24th September at glór.
In 2017, Ennis Food Festival will be looking to find Ennis’ Favourite Dessert!
