The launch is supported by Creative Ireland. The Creative Ireland Programme is a culture based programme designed to promote individual, community and national well-being. Dermot Fetton of The Cloister and Chairman of Ennis Food Festival said: “A huge thank you to Helen Walsh and the Creative Ireland Team for their support allowing us to open up our launch to the public. Also to Padraic McElwee and his team at Clare Local Enterprise Office not only for the support of our launch, but even more so for the great event that they are planning for our Food Festival in October. There are several fantastic events – both big and smaller – lined up now including our Gourmet Food village in glór featuring Kevin Dundon. Our festival is able to grow this year in particular due to the great support we are receiving both nationally and locally as well as of course our food businesses right here in Ennis.”

At last years’ Ennis Food Festival the first challenge to find ‘Ennis’ Favourite Dish’ was launched with 5 restaurants creating their individual versions of a main course Ennis Dish and presenting them for judging ahead of the festival. In 2017, Ennis Food Festival will treat their visitors to trying Ennis’ Favourite Dessert. This time, the tasting will be done at the public launch of Ennis Food Festival on 09th September from 10am – 1pm at the Ennis Market Building. Managing Director of Temple Gate Hotel and Ennis Food Festival committee member, Paul Madden said: “This year we are taking Ennis Food Festival to a new level. On the back of a very successful Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2017 we want to further showcase all that is good about Ennis from a Eating and Dining out point of view. At our launch we will have a number of premises showcase some of the sweeter aspects of our menus. A good meal is always topped off with a fine desert. Why not come along and join us for a taste of what’s available in our high quality outlets.”
